      Application

I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at RedRover

      Interview

They strung me along for over 6 weeks, even with a recruiter being the communication mediator. They gave the recruiter false information several times about having reached out to me / followed up directly when I had not received any communication in any format (email, phone, text, third party HR platform messages). I had to send the recruiter screenshots of my email inbox to prove this. This was especially cruel as they told the recruiter they had reached out to move me forward two days before Christmas, but I didn’t not receive any communication until three weeks later - last minute - the day before they wanted to do the interview, so I did not have any time to prep after work for the next day thinking that they had already ghosted me. Throughout the interview process they would tell the recruiter that I would meet with a specific person, and a different person would show up to the interview. One of the rounds was a panel interview. I think that panel interviews are unproductive and unnecessary. One of the people on the panel did not show up and they did not apologize nor address that at all. Only one person asked the questions while the other sat there stone-faced without speaking. It was awkward / extremely uncomfortable, and made me more nervous than necessary to have someone sitting there judging and not engaging in the conversation. It seems as though the panel interview is being used as an intimidation tactic. The questions I was asked were overly general / sweeping and then the feedback they provided the recruiter was that I “had no substance,” which was super rude and taken completely out of context considering that I had to carry the conversation / tone of the entire interview and stay positive when the panel was so serious and scowling the entire time. I also have such great relationships with my clients, to the point that several tell me they miss me handling their projects jobs and years later - but this company said that I “do not have a C-suite presence.” My current clients are with Fortune 500 companies across various countries (and cultures) where they are larger and have much bigger budgets than RedRover’s clients, so to say something as harsh as I don’t have a C-Suite level presence is only reflective of how uncomfortable they fostered the interview environment. The red flags these leadership-level individuals displayed left me hesitant that they themselves could handle C-Suite clients. I have had to blindly follow very weak leadership in the past and this company outwardly displays ego and acts like they are better than those they would potentially like to work under them, which is not the type of leadership that I would like to give 100% of my time and talents to. True leaders that ‘walk the walk’ handle and carry themselves in a humble manner and do not intentionally cause discomfort in any type of setting. Why would anyone want to work for someone like that? We are in the business and department of making anyone we interact with feel comfortable enough to give us their fiscal quarterly budgets, and that should be authentically practiced internally as well as externally. Additionally, not a single person in the company I spoke to ever acknowledged / responded to my Thank You follow up emails, even to tell me that they would not move forward. In my opinion this is a display of bad manners, particularly in the South. To spend 6 weeks scrambling to move my set client meetings and working my lunch breaks around their schedules, to not even be able to turn me down directly (and made the recruiter do it , who said that she personally did not agree with their assessments) is extremely unprofessional and frankly insulting. If the interview process was indicative of what it would be like to work there, they did me a favor by showing their true colors with their actions and temperament. Additionally, I was asked to take a personality test prior so if you had not liked my characteristics as a person then why waste my time and drag out the interview process only to say horrible things about me instead of providing constructive criticism that I am able to adjust and act on. They requested to record all of my interviews but were not considerate enough to share them with me nor have the recruiter pass them along. Overall, really disappointed that I wasted my time and the recruiter’s time on a company that is not able to recognize a hard working, positive and highly experienced person when they have one in front of them, nor be kind when they decided it was not a good fit. Probably the worst interview experience I have had in the last 10 years.
