I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Remitly (Seattle, WA) in Mar 2018
Interview
I submitted writing samples, completed a take-home SEO assessment, and then had a phone screen. The phone screen was the strangest I've ever had.
Over the course of 40 minutes, my interviewer effusively praised my resume, my directly relevant work history, and all the ideas I brought to the table. She spent more time talking about how much she liked me than she did asking me questions or listening to me speak. When we wrapped up, she reiterated that she was really impressed with me and I'd "definitely hear back." In fact she was going to go and set it up with her coordinator immediately. She briefed me on what to expect when I came in.
Two days passed. The weekend passed. Monday, I emailed. The coordinator said the hiring manager had been out of town.
Tuesday, I received a form rejection (from an automated email address!). I sent a brief email to thank the coordinator for her time and express my regret but wish them well. Needless to say, I won't be looking for future openings with the company.
