Had an initial call with a recruiter who was really friendly. After that we scheduled a 1 hour technical phone screen. I want to note that the recruiter told me during our conversation that the interview was going to be on React and specifically told me that Rivian isn’t a huge fan of leetcode questions. Even a couple days before the interview I double check with one of the other recruiting coordinators and she also confirms it’s a React interview. I decided to interview specifically because it wasn’t going to be tested on data structures and algorithms. Interview comes around and the guy who joins says “yeah we aren’t going to be doing React today” and pulls up a leetcode question. Given I didn’t prepare at all for this sort of interview I struggled, then got rejected. Really disappointing how the recruiter didn’t give correct information EVEN after double-checking. Even if I were to move on, I would choose not to. Can’t trust the hiring process at all.
