I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at RoadRunner (Nashville, TN) in Mar 2026
Interview
Quick process compared to most places these days. Phone screen, one hour zoom interview with role play exercise. A decision seems to be made pretty quickly. Overall a decent interview timeframe.
I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at RoadRunner in May 2025
Interview
My interview process started with an initial Recruiter screen, a timed Woven assessment in the language of my choice, a Hiring Manager screen and then ended with a final round panel-styled interview with a System Design challenge and Q&A. RoadRunner worked with me on delaying my start date so I had a lot of calls with their internal recruiter who made me feel so heard and valued.

Question 1
The Software Engineering Manager role at RoadRunner is quite technical and you're expected to also contribute as an IC. They asked a lot of questions about my approach of mentoring engineers and my approach in writing new features.

I had a brief call with HR and then was asked to do a technical assessment on Woven. Assessment wasn't too bad. This is an early career position so not sure what a company expects a candidate to do in 45 minutes besides get the code working and get most of the tests to pass. I would certainly have done more if I had the time.
