I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at SDI Media Group (Culver City, CA) in Apr 2014
Interview
A phone call, a difficult subtitle test, and one interview. Pretty complete. Nothing special to say about it. The production coordinator and another manager were already convinced to hire me when they met me. It was quick and easy. One week later, they were calling me to offer me a on-call position. I stayed like this for one year, before being full time.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at SDI Media Group (Los Angeles, CA) in Nov 2019
Interview
I had two interviews for SDI media. The first was a phone interview where I was asked to summarize my work experience. The second was an in-person interview where I was shown around the office and then asked more specific questions about my resume. I then had to take a handwritten editing and technology test that took under an hour and covered windows shortcuts, subtitle formatting, English colloquialisms, and basic grammar and spelling.

Question 1
What was your previous job most similar to the position you are interviewing for?
I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at SDI Media Group
Interview
I was contacted by European Language Vendor Coordinator from Philippines, that sent me a trial test. The rate that I was offered was very low (double times lower than average in the industry) and I was said I would get it higher if I did well in the test. Exactly after 1 month of sending them the test, I got back a short email saying I my test didn't meet their requirements (no further explanation, no details, very unprofessional), even though the test was actually quite easy. Somehow my test results were excellent for the companies that could actually offer me the rates that I wanted. So I found this reasoning of SDI company very unprofessional, rude and unadequate. If you cannot afford good candidates, you should state so, without making up excuses that are irrelevant.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at SDI Media Group (Los Angeles, CA) in Sept 2017
Interview
They called me after I had sent them my resume, set up an appointment.
The manager was very kind, polite, straightforward. he wanted to make sure that you can do the job and have fun in the company.
