I received a call and was invited to an initial interview within a day or so with the Lead Career Coach. She was knowledgeable and pleasant. However, when I returned for the second interview with her boss I was greeted by another employee who was not as friendly. I came in at 8:45a for what I thought was a 9a second interview. The person who greeted me on my 2nd visit was not cordial at all. She went to an office and informed I was there. She returned with a snotty attitude and said, ‘It was at 8a.’ I apologized and said I was sure it was 9a but because it was just verbally agreed on I could be mistaken. She questioned me again if I was sure it was 9a. I repeated yes, I was sure but could be incorrect. In front of me she began texting on her phone...I was not sure what she was doing. Initially, I thought she was trying to assist in seeing if my interviewer was still available or if I could reschedule. They knew I was working and had arranged to be there as best I could . As it turned out she was probably texting the lady I initially interviewed with. Maybe she didn’t reply because she finally just called her. She turned partially away from facing me to simply ask, ‘What time was that interview this morning 8 or 9? Ok, 8a and she knew that already? Ok, thanks.’ The lady turns back and said in a condescending tone, ‘Yeah, it was at 8’ and just started at me. So I apologized AGAIN for my misunderstanding and left. The weirdest thing was how much my initial interviewer repeatedly talked about teamwork, helping each other and being so positive! I liked it so much that although I had accepted another position elsewhere the day before, I wanted to still interview and ask about volunteering or occasional part-time! I wholeheartedly understand it was my mistake that I mixed up our verbal agreement on the interview time of 8a instead of 9a. I’m just disappointed in the Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde vibe I got on my 2nd visit!
