I applied online. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at SLACK Incorporated (Thorofare, NJ) in Sept 2016
Interview
First received a fast-paced spiel from the HR lady who did not seem to like me very much, probably because I was a bit rusty at interviewing and overprepared, leading to a bit of rambling myself.
She asked standard interview questions and then left me with an editing test, which is standard procedure for this kind of role, and a spelling test as well. Would have liked the full half hour for just the edit test. There were so many issues and I didn't even have the time to finish detailing corrections/queries. I feel like this counted against me as well, though I knew what I was doing and was qualified for the role.
A second person, a manager-type, then interviewed me in a more casual and warm manner. I liked speaking with her and she seemed to like me, though it can be hard to tell with these things. When I left she told me there was a second round and I would hear from them in two weeks and that she thought I would be able to make a strong transition into the role. Alas, in a bit more than two weeks I received a formal nice rejection letter instead, which I did appreciate the courtesy of.
The office had a nice casual environment and reallllly casual dress. I'm used to business casual with free-for-all Fridays and I was still taken aback
