I applied through university. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at San Jacinto College (Houston, TX) in Sept 2015
Interview
It lasted about 50 minutes. it was the most simple interview I had so far. I was interviewed by two people in a office. They were really relaxed and the questions that they asked me were really simple as well. the kind of questions you do not have to think too much to answer at. the answer comes to you very naturally. All they want to know is how well you can handle some situations and how much patience you can have with students. Then, once they have all the answers to the questions asked, they give you a 20 minutes exam, a really basic one. And once you done with the exam, the interview is over. If they liked how you answered the questions and if you got all the problems on the exam right, then you will probably get the job.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at San Jacinto College (Pasadena, TX) in Sept 2014
Interview
Attended the center as a student, saw job opening and applied. Got a call back a week later to set up and interview. They asked me a few scenarios to see what's wrong and right (helping student during test).
