Lonngggg, tiring and frustrating process.
In total, around 8 calls with the hiring manager at Sandvik in Tampere, Finland.
-2 of them were actual interviews,
-In the other 2 hiring manager was checking if I was still interested since the process was taking too long.
-For the last 3-4 calls hiring manager tried to pull me down to lower salary than expected. She just won't state clearly what is the salary which Sandvik would like to pay.
-Hiring manager lacked knowledge on basic questions on holidays, bonuses, benefits etc etc. For every question her answer was 'I will have to ask'. If you are so unsure, make an HR expert sit with you in the interview.
There was also:
one aptitude test +
a psychometric test +
a review of the test results with a third-party recruiter +
an interview with the Hiring manager's boss.
In the starting interviews, the hiring manager was really happy with my profile. She stated all the good qualities my profile has and how I would be the perfect candidate for the role.
After I stated my salary expectations she started counting the skills I do not have. Eventually rejected my application without giving me a reason.
Overall, the process was lacking transparency and honesty.
