I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Shalom Austin (Austin, TX) in Oct 2025
Interview
Applied and got a swift response the next day from the employer. There was a phone interview that went well and the HR leader was enthused about getting into an in person 2nd interview asap about a week later so I prepared for the interview and studied to the job description. The day arrives for the interview and the moment I walk into the room the first thing that is said by the CFO is "Thanks for taking the time to speak with us about our Financial Analyst role". I immediately inform them there must be a mistake, because this is listed as a BA position and at no point was this ever discussed as anything different. I finished the interview and felt like I did great answering the data and business questions (Because thats what the job was) but lacked on the financial side (because this wasn't what the job was). After the interview I reached out to the HR Leader for clarity and never got a response. Got a generic automated denial response 2 weeks after the final interview. Great facility, don't think they quite have it together there though.

Question 1
If we want to choose someone for leadership based off of community engagement and interactions what would be the best way to track and make a selection based off our data?
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Shalom Austin (Austin, TX) in Jan 2023
Interview
The interview process was grueling. In total had 6 interviews to include nearly 20 people. This in and of itself was not inherently an issue. What became an issue was making it to the final interview before receiving a generic response that they had decided to put the search back out. That I wasn’t selected due to my qualifications not matching. The same qualifications they knew at the start. And after the second round. And fifth round. All the way to the sixth round. When I asked for additional context and feedback I got radio silence. My number one piece of advice is you must create a more solid employee journey and that starts with the candidates. Very very poor experience.

Question 1
Between meeting just under 20 people there were a lot of questions. Many asked by people who don’t understand the role of the Chief People Officer and have little ability to gauge qualifications.
I took the Red Cross Water Safety Instructor training course at Shalom Austin which also primarily served as my interview to be a swim instructor for both group and private lesson at Shalom Austin.
