      Frontend Developer Interview

      23 Aug 2019
      Anonymous employee
      Burnaby, BC
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Sign In Solutions (Burnaby, BC) in Jul 2019

      Interview

The whole process took about a month from first phone call from the talent acquisition person to receiving an offer. The talent acquisition was very helpful, in fact she figured that I was a better fit with Guest than ToD. After about a week, I was asked to come in to the office for a meet and greet with a couple of people that I potentially would be working with and also the VP of Engineering. They are such great people and easy to talk to that it did not make me feel anxious at all. The VP even accompanied me down the elevator and had a casual conversation (not work related) for another 15 minutes. Very nice touch Mr. VP! I was then tasked to do a project of my choosing and present it to the team a week later. We discussed the project, what I would do if I were to improve it, etc... Was contacted a week later for a culture interview. This is just a casual conversation with people outside the potential team I would be working with just to see if both parties are culturally aligned. A few days later, received an offer.

CEO- One of my favorite parts about the interview process is the culture breakfast. It's great that you recognized that this is intentionally set up for us (non managerial folk) to meet you and for you to evaluate us. It's intended to be a mutual selection process not another interview.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Sign In Solutions (Natal, Rio Grande do Norte) in Dec 2018

      Interview

I was living abroad at the time, so all the interviews were done remotely. The first interview was with the CTO. He asked me questions about my job experience and gave me some information about the company, their product, culture and what they were looking for. He was very friendly and made me feel more relaxed. After that, they gave me a code challenge. I did an app following the specs provided and presented to the dev team. During the call, each one of the dev team ask me different kinds of questions that covered both frontend and backend features of the application. Some days later, we schedule the "cultural fit" call, where basically I talked with different people from the company about random things (pretty much food and games). After that, I received my job offer. Everyone was very nice during the whole process. I felt like they were really paying attention to the things I was saying and were very honest when I had questions.

CEO-I'm glad that you felt we paid attention to your interview efforts. Interviews are stressful events that people put a great deal of thought into. No matter how busy we are, we owe it to each candidate to appreciate their efforts.
