I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at SimplePractice (Los Angeles, CA) in Sept 2020
Interview
Standard developer interview with an initial screen with the Director of Engineering, then a senior developer, before the technical screen itself.
The technical screen was a video call in which I was asked to develop a basic API service, and relevant data models. I was interviewed by three engineers, but only one asked questions - the other two sat in silence while I coded.
I was able to implement their requested task, and the follow-up questions - some of which had already asked on the previous screen - seemed straightforward. The only feedback I got following on from this was the subsequent rejection.
All in all, the 'silence' and refusal of some of my interviewers to engage seemed arrogant, and it didn't really seem clear who / what the company is looking for to fill this role.
