I applied online. I interviewed at Singapore Airlines (Tampines New Town, ) in Feb 2019
Interview
It started with an online application process mainly on academic qualifications and also previous work or flying experience .
It took about 2 weeks before SIA got back to me that i was shortlisted for the initial interview . After the interview which usually have 2 sessions, morning and afternoon, those who have passed the first interview would be given a short break before heading for the computer aptitude test. The aptitude test sessions would also be split up for the interviewees for the afternoon session and morning session to prevent long waiting times. My initial interview was 20 about 20 minutes however other the interviews for other applicants typically lasted between 10-15 minutes. The aptitude test takes roughly about 2 hours and there's nothing much u can do to prepare for it.
for my batch, everybody who cleared the initial interview , cleared the aptitude test. So all of us were advanced to the final interview and tea party which was about 2 weeks away.
The Final interview for me was a 50-word essay on " why do you want to fly ?" A panel interview with 5 distinguished pilots and a person who i supposed is from HR followed. Lastly, a mini tea party was held and at least for my batch we didn't have much time to interact with the pilots.
Ultimately in my opinion , they are looking for someone who exhibits and also composure under questioning and stress. for the the 10 of us that went for the final interview , only 3 people were selected and they usually let you know the next day. Hint: the ones who passed will receive the email earlier in the morning than those who didn't .
Note: they will study your academic and work experience profile before setting questions for you. I am a business student and hence weren't asked very technical questions . Applicants with an engineering background will be expected to have more technical knowledge. Even though i referred to glassdoor for the preparation of questions , none of the questions posted here came out and i suspect they overhaul the questions every year .
interview with 2 pilots during preliminary interview in SIA training centre. asked to wait until pilots called you in. asked behavioural questions as well as several aviation questions. total lasted approximately 20-30 minutes

2. Tell me about SIA fleet

You need to clearly demonstrate a strong understanding of your motivation for pursuing a career as a pilot, and be prepared to confidently answer both technical and basic mathematical questions. Most importantly, you must convince the interviewer that you are a worthwhile to justify the company spending $150,000 on your training and development.
I applied online. The process took 6 months. I interviewed at Singapore Airlines (Singapore) in Nov 2025
Interview
Prelim Interview.
Process is pretty straightforward: they'll check and verify all your information in your application with the documents you've brought.
After that you just wait to be called by your interviewer. There will be 2 people interviewing you - mine was a Head/Management Pilot and someone from HR. They will be very poker-faced throughout the session. It will be quick. Once you're done, you just leave the facility and hope you're called up for the Final Interview
