The interview process was fairly extensive. 2 official rounds of interview + 1 screening call. There were about 2-3 rounds of salary negotiation which lasted over a week. While the role was interesting and the interview questions for it were easy along with the assessment, the reason I disapprove them is their unprofessional misconduct. They completed a reference check with my current employer without prior permission or intimation to me, and this was due to the fact that the founders of both companies knew each other. To top it, they spoke of me as an ex-employee of the company when infact I was still working with them and I had made this clear at each stage of the interview process. This is beyond the 2 reference checks they had done with the contacts I had shared with them. Severe violation of standard hiring practices.
