      Client Development Manager Interview

      28 Sept 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Boston, MA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at Smartsheet (Boston, MA) in Sept 2018

      Interview

I was an internal employee referral. I have over 20 years sales experience. I passed the initial phone screen. The odd thing about it was she said that she was concerned how I would handle a transition to a sales role. I have been in sales over 20 years. Bizarre. After that, they set me up with another phone screening. This time the person thought I was a Solutions Engineer. No matter how I explained it, he also thought I didn't have the background for the position which I clearly do. I know they are hiring hundreds of people in short order and I think they have interview fatigue. The whole time that I was on the phone with both of those people I felt like they were not listening and definitely not engaged from the get go. In fact, when my second call took place, the manager that called me was a little late and started the call by asking me what the call was in regard to. I have never experienced anything like that in my entire life. Crazy how they handle a referral from an internal employee.

      Interview

interviewed with 6 different people at the company and was led on to believe I was being hired for multiple open positions only for them not to hire me. Asked for feedback on what went wrong and they said they couldn't provide any. Then had the audacity to send me a survey asking me to provide feedback on their interview process. joke of a company
