      Software Engineer Interview

      4 Nov 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Denver, CO
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Snapdocs (Denver, CO) in Oct 2020

      Interview

Easy tech phone screen, then invited to a virtual onsite which took place over two days. I was given a schedule ahead of time, and they swapped the order and the interviewers without giving me notice, meaning that I prepared for the wrong interviews and used incorrect names with my interviewers. The actual interview questions weren't terribly difficult and I felt good about my interviews at the time. They told me I would receive a decision in 2 business days, which they failed to do. I have not heard back in 2 weeks, even after personally emailing the recruiter. The level of unprofessionalism was shocking to me, and I was left feeling like I wasted two working days interviewing with this company.

      Interview questions [2]

      Question 1

technical: int to string, walk through architecture of difficult recent project
      Answer question

      Question 2

Standard behavioral questions - What do you think your manager would say your greatest strength is? How would you evaluate your manager's performance? etc
      Answer question

Thanks for taking the time to give us this feedback. All feedback is helpful to us as we look to continually improve our processes and candidate experience. We pride ourselves on the overwhelmingly positive feedback we receive on our candidate experience and, I believe a big reason for that positive feedback is that we generally do such a great job of getting back to candidates quickly and keeping them informed throughout the process. That is clearly not what happened in this case, and for that I apologize. This is unacceptable, and while incredibly rare, we will examine the details of what happened here to ensure it does not happen to any candidate moving forward. Thanks again for your feedback and don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly if you have anything to add - greg @snapdocs.com

      Software Engineer Interview

      16 Jul 2020
      Anonymous interview candidate
      San Francisco, CA
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Snapdocs (San Francisco, CA) in Jul 2020

      Interview

      1. Recruiter call 2. Phone technical round interview (45 mins) 3 . 5 hour on site interview (virtual due to Covid-19) 4. Feedback call Easy questions during the interviews. I was able to answer all questions correctly including the behavioral/coding questions. I was told that I was rejected due to code redundancy during live code. To me that was quite surprising as the interview overall went quite well. To sum it up, it was not a very good use of so much of my time that I spend with them. They ask too many unrelated questions during the behavioral round and also there is a half an hour demo of the product in the interview which is also very unnecessary. FYI Don't be over pleased with everyone being too nice.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

      1. Design notary system 2. List out APIs for a given workbench 3. Number to string value (eg. 0 -> zero)
      Answer question

Thanks so much for your feedback. I’m sorry that you did not enjoy our technical interview loop. We do hold a very high bar here at Snapdocs, so it is quite possible to feel like you’ve given a strong interview with us and still not make it to the next round. I appreciate your comments about the behavioral and product demo rounds. Those are both very valuable rounds to us, even though they are not directly testing technical ability. We are super proud of the strong culture we’ve built here, so we do take time to interview folks for the “softer” behavioral competencies and skills. The product demo round has proven to be a key part of our process whereby we’re able to give candidates some valuable insight into our product and the work they’d be doing here. It’s unfortunate that this did not work out, but we wish you all the best in your career! And if you have further feedback for us, please feel free to reach me at greg @snapdocs.com.
