Internal recruiter reached out for a position that I didn’t apply for; however, the position was aligned with my experience and I applied for similar positions at Sofi. After a quick conversation, she sets up a call with the hiring manager. Even though he is a very experienced person, he didn’t seem like he knew how to interview. Anyway, I got the feeling that I didn’t have everything he was looking for although he said he will do a follow up call. Next day, recruiter calls asks me if I want this position and how did the call with the hiring manager go. Then she tells me that he wants to talk to me for another 45 min. Ok. Call set up and he never calls. Sent a message to recruiter and since then never heard back from anyone! A courtesy email to would be very professional! These people forget the fact that people in financial services usually know each other and that word travels. Most fintechs’ hiring process is not well managed.
