I applied online. I interviewed at SpaceX in Feb 2022
Interview
I interviewed with a recruiter, he started off with the first question my salary range. I asked higher than what he expected range for this role and I feel as though it rubbed him in the wrong way. He told me it was "almost impossible." What I was asking for was not unreasonably high by any means, I simply used the highest salary given on the LinkedIn and Glassdoor suggestion. From there, he asked my what I did. After that answer, he cut it brief and said he would talk to the hiring manager (this was his way of ending the call). It was a 6 minute call. It was extremely unpleasant. Obviously interviews are subjective and it is a process that can be determined by one person, so this experience could be different for others.
My first interview was with HR. We had a very pleasant conversation that lasted about 30 minutes, during which I mainly introduced my past experience and the projects I’m currently working on. I quickly received an invitation for a follow-up interview
The interview process was fairly straightforward. There was a phone interview to begin with a recruiter and then virtual ones following. I felt very comfortable and was updated throughout the interview process.

I applied online. I interviewed at SpaceX (Redmond, WA) in Apr 2024
Interview
Tough and Lengthy. There were interviews with 10 people, including in-person presentation, phone calls, and video interviews. I felt the sheer number of interviews was a bit unnecessary. The process took at least a month or so. They did provide accommodations for the trip.
