The beginning stages of the interview were seamless. I had reached out to the recruiter via linkedin and she was very responsive at first. After two phone screens and the written assessment, I was passed on to the final panel interview with 4 employees. This was approximately 3-4 hours and seemed to go pretty well. The recruiter asked me to send references and I was told that I would hear back by Wed (I interviewed Fri morning). I sent her my references and kindly let her know that I had an offer on the table but was extremely interested in the role at Springboard.
I followed up at the end of the day Wednesday letting the recruiter know my other offer expired at the end of the week so an update would be appreciated. The following Monday I reached out again after not hearing back.
Finally, on Tuesday I received a generic email rejecting my candidacy. She did not acknowledge my past emails regarding my other pending offer or apologize for the delay. In the written assessment we were asked to write an empathetic rejection email to a candidate, they should probably use those as templates.
The worst part is, is when I got another job at a different company, the recruiter commented on my LinkedIn saying she loved supporting me. I literally laughed out loud.
