I applied through an employee referral. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Stripe in Feb 2016
Interview
The process was standard when it came to employee referrals. It was fairly straightforward to get the first phone interview. Since it was the first conversation with the company, I expected a discussion about my CV, the work I've done and to find out a little bit more about the company. However I was given a case to solve and discuss based on their products.

Question 1
How would you choose between the subscription and the market-place based options i.e. evaluate which would be better for the business in the long run?
Got the standard HR screening and an interview with a hiring manager. Then was given a take home case assignment. They said it would take <8 hours; it ended up taking nearly double that. A lot of time was spent trying to open their data files (given in 1m+ row Excel files). You synthesize and write a proposal document to submit for review.

I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Stripe (Toronto, ON) in Apr 2025
Interview
I had a screening call with a senior, turned out he’s not the hiring manager. Then, I had a take home assignment. Then, they just told me that there’s no team that matches with me, and I just have to wait.
