Received an email from a recruiter via stack overflow. Talked on the phone about the company and what they were looking for. The recruiter spent most of the time talking about how great styleseat is and how amazing everything is. The main takeaways - pay was considerably low but it had equity, which they seem to value very, very highly.
I then did a technical screen over coderpad. The question was weirded very weirdly and made more confusing than it needed to be. It took me longer to solve than it should have, which is mostly my fault. I had zero time to ask about the workplace.
2 days later I was asked to schedule another technical interview. I figured this was a mistake so i ignored it. But after over a week I still hadn’t heard back, so I responded asking why I was being given a second technical assessment.
I then received an email saying that was a mistake and they were going with candidates farther in the process, but I’d be kept in consideration for other positions. All in all it was extremely unprofessional and seemed like they hadn’t done this before, even though they have 70 employees.
