I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at Sunnova (Houston, TX)
Interview
I was contacted by a recruiter after applying for the position via LinkedIn. The phone interview went well, and lasted roughly 30 minutes.
After that, I made to the next round, and had a Technical Interview with a lead. The interview lasted roughly 30 minutes, and went well in my opinion. It wasn't very "technical," and I was expecting actual software and hardware questions. Instead, it was mostly her talking about the position, schedule, working environment and how fun their team is. I was asked a couple of questions about my IT and QA experience, and was then told I would hear something in about 2 weeks.
Well 2 weeks passed, then a month, and now it's been over 2 months, and I haven't heard a thing. I sent both the recruiter and Lead an email inquiring about my status a month after my interview, and never received a reply.
Fortunately, I recently accepted an offer with a great SaaS company, so this interview review is not out of spite. It's a warning for others who may interview with this company. Sunnova doesn't value your time, and the behavior of the Recruiter and Lead shows not only what type of people they are, but the type of company Sunnova is.
In the tech field, a field where feedback is highly desired for improvement, ghosting candidates is a major sign of incompetence. I'll never be applying for another position with Sunnova again, and I strongly suggest you to do the same.
Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you had a negative experience. In this situation, the position ended up being placed on hold and it appears we could have communicated that more effectively to candidates. Your comments are appreciated, and we'll continue to work on our candidate experience.
