Contacted by HR to set up a phone interview. Standard 20-30 minute phone interview asking about experience and explaining the role in further detail. Then was asked some "fun" questions. Was asked to submit a writing sample, which I did.
Was then contacted a week later by the brand manager to come in for an interview and given a writing assignment. Interviewed with the brand manager for about an hour, then was asked to interview a member of the staff for the writing assignment. After that, the hiring manager gave a tour of the building and introduced me to some members of the team. Everybody seemed nice. I used the information given to me in the interview with the staff member and brand manager to write an article about the company. I submitted it before the deadline.
A week later, I received a rejection based on not being a culture fit even though they said they thought my writing assignment and samples were "wonderful." It was surprising, as I thought I got along pretty well with everyone I met and assumed the demonstration of skills was a more important factor. Oh, well.
The process itself was positive, and everyone there seems to really like what they do.
