Interview
I was interviewed for a hybrid role for this companies local Pasadena office. I was interviewed by someone who worked internationally. I felt like my time was wasted because this person seemed to immediately dismiss me within the first few minutes of the interview, likely based on my appearance or a quick skim of my resume (bad sign either way). He then proceeded to administer perhaps the worst interview I've ever experienced in my life. This person had a poor grasp of English and insisted on asking me about topics that were completely irrelevant to the role. He did mention that the company used an entirely custom front-end framework that they've developed in-house, which was a red flag. The job description also didn't match the tech stack described. At some point, the interviewer got aggressive and just started asking rapid fire, half-sensical questions in an almost accusatory way without even giving me time to answer them. I felt like withdrawing my candidacy for the role before even hearing back from them because I knew that I didn't want to work there and that I wasn't going further in the process anyway.
I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Supplyframe (Pasadena, CA) in Oct 2022
Interview
First I had a 30 minute screening with the recruiter. Then a 1 hour interview with hiring manager. After that, I was scheduled for a 3 hour interview with multiple engineers and product managers broken down into 3 one hour sessions back to back. At the end I had a quick conversation with the VP of engineering which was scheduled because I was getting the offer to talk about start date and finalize details.
