I was contacted by a recruiter and got an interview with the SVP. The interview was very deep and technical, and the discussions were mostly about why Arch Option A would be better than Arch Option B. I think the role was not a good fit, and felt more like a previous job I had which was not a management role. Why would I pick this type of DB for this solution? I expected more discussions around culture, team building, etc, but the SVP seemed more driven by deep diving into solutions. I respect that a level of detail is needed at times for this role, but I also would have liked to see a balance on how to build, support, and structure a team for this level of problem-solving.
Overall the interview was not professionally handled, as they did not reach out for a follow-up. I always ensure a 5-minute call and follow up is mandatory when you speak to two people on the phone. I did not even get an email.
