I was contacted by a recruiter for a phone screen for a Director of Learning and Development, and was excited to showcase my experience. About 15 minutes into the call, the recruiter says to me, I think your knowledge and experience is more geared to a Facilitator role. I listened to what she said, and I was thrown off. I did say I was interested still (potentially being able to grow in the company), and was scheduled for an onsite interview. The wee after that, I interviewed in person with the COO and Sales Director. The interview went well, and was about 45 minutes. Having came from a competitor, I highlighted what this company can do to level up, and discussed my experience in prior training roles. After saying goodbye, I sent a thank you email a couple hours later. A week goes by now with zero contact or communication, and I sent another follow up email. It was a holiday week, so I guessed people were busy. Now, two weeks after that, I sent another email asking for follow up or feedback, and nothing.
I have officially been ghosted by this company after an onsite interview that lasted close to an hour, AND, was contacted and recruited for a role that they never had any interest in me filling. If that doesn't speak volumes about the leadership and the internal workings of a place, I don't know what does. It seems as if they are more concerned about getting information about their competitors, versus investing in potential employees. It's a shame to waste people's valuable time and energy, and to not have the decency to inform them one way or another. Absolutely would not recommend this place, don't let the "cool" office fool you either.
