Let me start by saying that the director of talent acquisition reached out to me about this position expressing interest in wanting me to come work for the team. I was not actively looking for a new position, nor did I apply to this role until they asked me to. However, I became interested to see what it was all about and was excited to speak with them since they expressed interest in my work. I interviewed with multiple people (creative director, marketing director, SVP of marketing, etc.) and created an entire design/creative case study for a mock jersey retirement that they wanted me to complete in two days, which I did while also actively working my current job. I had great conversations with everyone and was told that I was top of the list of candidates. They reached out to me in October, interviewed in October, and did the creative case study for them in October. I didn’t hear back from them for three months after asking for an update, but I was finally told in January that they were working to get the salary approved and that I would hear back once that was finalized. I never heard back and was completely ghosted by them, and then I found out the job was posted again. I reached out for an update because I was confused, but I never heard back. To reach out to me about the position in the first place and putting me through all these hoops of interviewing and creating design work for them felt like a giant waste of my time and effort. A simple response or update after stringing me along for months should not have been a difficult task. I found this to be extremely unprofessional, inconsiderate, and disappointing. And frankly, I would not recommend working there if this is what the process is like to just interview for a position.
