      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      20 Jun 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Belfast, Northern Ireland
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Teamwork (Belfast, Northern Ireland) in Apr 2018

      Interview

Technical challenge to be completed in Go at home with a week to complete with tests. Relatively simple scenario. Upon completion very minimal feedback given and lack of any coherent follow up. Recruitment team indicated they'd reach out when hiring for the position I had applied for despite saying they were before commencing. Company continues to advertise for position with no follow up. Disappointing handling in general and mixed messages throughout

      Senior Software Engineer Interview

      4 Sept 2019
      Anonymous interview candidate
      Cork
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Teamwork (Cork) in Apr 2019

      Interview

The worst interview I've ever experienced. The whole process took about 2 months from start to finish. It took nearly 2 weeks of waiting before I was able to find out if I got to the next stage with no updates in between. Anytime I asked for one, I was told ridiculous excuses and brushed off. After passing the phone and coding tests, I was called in for a face-to-face interview. I was impressed by the office space but as others say, that's where the positives end. I was interviewed by a developer and some 'other' person, which they didn't tell me who it was at first, but judging by their age, seemed to be a fresh college graduate. When I was answering the questions, the developer often laughed at my answers in a sarcastic, put-down way which I thought was unprofessional for an interview setting. Ironically, I was told of a few firings of people due to bullying. I was frequently interrupted by various notifications coming from the developer's laptop and phone, which they didn't bother to silence. At the end of the interview when it was my turn to ask questions, I found that that the 'other' person that was interviewing me was in-fact an intern. I have never encountered in my whole career to be interviewed for a senior role by an intern. This is absolute shambles. This company is full of red flags. AVOID.

Thank you for taking the time to give us the feedback on your experience. This is disappointing and is not the experience we want for anyone in our recruitment process. We are sorry that the process fell short and that your experience was not up to standard. We receive very positive feedback on our recruitment and this particular case is certainly not the norm. We pride ourselves on having an efficient and fast recruitment process which is expected in the technology space in which we operate. We have listened to the points you have raised and will incorporate improvements to our process. Thank you again for the feedback, we want to listen so we can improve.

      Senior Software Developer Interview

      30 May 2018
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Neutral experience
      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Teamwork

      Interview

Phone screening with recruiter, short presentation of company, few Q&A about employment status and salary expectation. Receive a coding test by mail, very general description about building something, need to accomplish in reasonable time frame.. After spending 20 hours doing test at evening and weekend, sending back the test as instructed, then never hear from them again. Did not bother to check in with them, probably lost somewhere in the process.. Bit waist of time, special time use for doing test implementation is in evening and weekend after a long working day/weeks, probably lose 1.5 weekends and some random hours in couple of evening to accomplish test. As a team lead I doing training and hiring, and we use similar test as well as part of the evaluation process.. But if people spending their free time doing test and candidate want feedback, we always giving feedback in timely manner and giving suggestion for improvement, no matter they are hire or not. At minimum email with a few lines or a phone call. It's part of professional courtesy.
