      HR Interview

      4 Aug 2024
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at TeePublic in Jul 2024

      Interview

I came into process with excitement at the prospect of being able to be part of the company. While I completely understand that decisions are made behind the scenes and things can change at any moment, the lack of transparency and respect of my time was surprising. At every stage of the interview process I followed up with emails to show my appreciation while also asking a few questions only to be met with complete silence. During my interviews I had also placed an emphasis on transparency and how important it is for me as a candidate but also a potential employee. Not only was my "final" round interview rescheduled but also cancelled an hour before with a very curt email informing me the position is being replaced by an outside agency. Having a candidate go through 3+ steps of an interview process, reschedule an extra interview, and cancel that extra interview 1 hour beforehand only to send them a short email letting them know your role is being replaced by an external party is extremely disrespectful and somewhat nonsensical. I've worked with dozens of companies and clients, built out their processes, and developed a multitude of leadership teams. One of the most important aspects of opening a position is to understand that every interview stage is a reflection of the company and their values. If you have candidates go through multiple steps it is only natural to bring them on to a video call to at least offer transparency and end things amicably rather than send them a 2 sentence email right before the interview. Regardless I still only hope for the company's best moving forward and am going to take this as a poor reflection on the recruiter rather than the organization.
