      I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at Tempus AI in Mar 2024

      Interview

      It is a four-step interview process for the CRA role. I applied, and within one day, I was contacted by HR to set up a phone call. The phone call was scheduled less than a week later and went very well. The call was a 30 minute interview with about 10 questions. I then advanced to the next step with the hiring manager for a 30 minute video interview the following week. The video interview was a standard interview, and there was plenty of time to get to know more about the role and the team I'd be working with. I was told I was a top candidate and the next steps would be a call with the area vice president of sales (south region) and then a case scenario/presentation in front of a panel. Even though I was told I'd hear back within three days, it took two weeks for the confirmation of the next phone call, which turned out to be the most unprofessional interview I've ever had. I was called thirty minutes early, and she immediately said, "Look, I don't have much time to talk because I have to be somewhere in 20 minutes." To me, that's very unprofessional. A candidate should not be called thirty minutes earlier than the scheduled interview time and also have an interview cut short. In that instance, the vice president should have rescheduled it, knowing they weren't going to be available during the scheduled 30 minute time slot. She only asked about three questions and was very short with me, and then asked if I had any questions after only ten minutes of talking. I asked two questions and felt uncomfortable with how rude she was, so I decided not to ask anymore as I knew I didn't want to continue with the interview. Also, one of the questions I asked was regarding potential challenges someone in the position faces, especially in the first 90 days, and right away she said, "Oh, there are many challenges. It is not an easy position and a lot of people tend to struggle because it is very tough. She then mentioned how it would be 4-5 days of traveling each week, which conflicted with the 2-4 days I heard from the previous interviewers, so that was also red flags to me as some things weren't matching up. I heard back about a week later saying the position had been filled, which was fine with me as I don't want to work somewhere that has someone so unprofessional in such a high-level position. So the overall process took about two months, and as much as I love what Tempus is doing, I now understand why they don't have the highest reviews.

What can you tell me about genes and genetic coding related to cancer and what surprised you about any of the research Tempus is doing from the website?
