I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, MD) in Sept 2015
Interview
It was multi-staged. First with HR department; then with the local department looking to employ a candidate. HR interview was more general and broad: tell me about yourself stuff; while local department was more specific to the advertised position and very very thorough. You need to know the meat and onions of how to do the job.
