I applied in-person. I interviewed at The Whitaker Companies (Houston, TX)
Interview
So there is a pre-screening with the CEO assistant, Then you meet with the CEO if they like you. Bruce is a very kind man but firm. He shoots it straight. He basically puts the ball in your court but observes your questions about him and the company. You then have to then meet with the team you may be aligned to. This is the most intense process if it all because they have a say in whether or not you get hired. By far most interesting process I have seen.
I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at The Whitaker Companies (Houston, TX)
Interview
I was referred by a friend of the company who scheduled my interview. I met with 4 senior staffing consultants. Generally casual conversations. They wanted to know about me and why I was interested in staffing and sales. Trying to get an idea for my drive. I was asked to come back the next week to meet with the President. The meeting with him was quick and was time for me to ask questions about the company. He then allowed me to meet with a couple newer employees to get an idea of what to really expect on the job. They did their best to prepare you for the job and make sure you are a good fit and are understanding of the stress and requirements.

Question 1
Why sales recruiting over internal recruiting? Don't you think internal recruiting is easier?
What are your weaknesses?
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at The Whitaker Companies (Houston, TX) in Dec 2010
Interview
You are phone screened first, then you are invited in for an interview. You meet with the Vice President, Group Lead, some of the top producers. You talk with them as you normally would for an interview, about your experiences, what you want to bring to the company, etc. You make sure the personalilities work together and then if everything fits they call you about a week later and make the offer.
