I applied in-person. The process took 1 day. I interviewed at The Y (YMCA) (Grand Prairie, TX) in Apr 2015
Interview
I walked up to the front desk and said "hey I applied online to work here this summer as a lifeguard and I wanted to check in and talk to someone." I was pointed to an office and walked back there. The process was extremely informal, relaxed, and brief. We mostly exchanged information and I learned about training dates. Because I knew someone who worked there I was pretty much given the job on the spot.
Easy, asks relevant questions. Casual, you should know the job and be ready to show up early and take it seriously. You’ll be the best at the job if you just do that.
Couple of behavioral / skill questions related to the training classes. Know all the types of saves and when to perform them. Also, know how to answer situational changes. 1 short interview with the lead Aquatics director. Offer next day

Interviewing can be nerve-wracking, but preparation builds confidence. Research the company, practice answers, and dress professionally. Stay calm, listen carefully, and ask thoughtful questions to show genuine interest and enthusiasm.
