      Marketing Interview

      18 Mar 2009
      Anonymous interview candidate
      New York, NY
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 6 days. I interviewed at Topps Company (New York, NY) in Jan 2009

      Interview

After initial phone screening I was invited in for a in person interview. The VP I was suppose to meet with that day had an "emergency meeting" and so I didn't end up meeting with him, only the HR person and one other person for about 15 minutes. I came back in the following week for an interview with the original VP and I was told I would hear something back in a few weeks. I thought the interview went well and I sent my appropriate thank you notes. After several attempts to follow up, I never heard for the company again. I stopped trying after about a month and decided first it was their loss not to hire me and second if they are not getting back to me as a potential candidate, then working there they probably have the same work ethic of not returning messages and that is one of my biggest pet peeves, when people don't respond within 48 hours.

      Question 1

No difficult questions were asked, but I didn't understand why they didn't do more market research before launching products. Asked how I would do that.
