      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at TradeWaters (VA)

      Interview

Comprised of three rounds in total. The first round was brief, and the second was longer. Did not get a good feeling from the company during the second round. The interviewer for the second round interview was very difficult to talk to.

      Application

      Interview

The interview is overinflated for the position that you are actually applying for. This company does direct sales. They disguise the position under the marketing umbrella. However, once you actually get into the process you find out it is slinging cell phones at a kiosk at big box stores. It's a sales job and you must start at the bottom of their pyramid, no matter your education or experience. This is their business model. They do offer a base pay but it is poverty level and you must make sales to make a livable wage. Apparently, paying people a living wage disincentivizes them to actually sell? According to what science? It has been repeatedly proven that when people feel comfortable and stable at their job they perform BETTER. Along with this base pay, you can expect team building nights that also take you away from your family/friends, you must drive for meetings every morning, the location of the meetings may actually be greater than the distance to whatever retail store you're working at. Part of their philosophy is learning to be ok with being "uncomfortable" (living in poverty and begging people to buy bloated phone plans at a kiosk in Costco) because this how you learn and grow. Basically, if you are interested in marketing, this is not the company for you. If you are looking for a B2C/direct sales position, this is the place for it.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Very few interview questions. Mostly a veiled sales pitch about how successful you can and will be once you move past ceiling cell phones (chances are most people don't perform well and are fired because no company will pay $500/per week base salary for someone who is not doing well with sales. Or they catch on to how much these jobs can suck and they quit) you'll be a big success and move up their management ladder!
