      I interviewed at Tradewater

      Interview

Title: Disorganized hiring, shifting priorities, and little respect for candidates’ time. Review: I went through Tradewater’s hiring process twice for two different roles. In both cases, I was advanced, interviewed, and asked to make a meaningful investment of time and professional credibility, including providing references, only for the opportunity to collapse late in the process due to “internal transitions,” shifting priorities, or leadership changes. What’s concerning is that Tradewater appears to advance candidates without a stable internal mandate for the role. By the time decisions are made, the organization seems to realize it is no longer aligned on scope, funding, or even whether the role should exist. That burden is then quietly pushed onto the candidate. Reference checks were requested despite the organization not being in a position to actually move forward. Communication was polite but vague, with long silences followed by reversals framed as unavoidable circumstances. From the outside, it feels like a company in constant internal flux, where hiring decisions are reactive rather than intentional. I would caution candidates, especially experienced professionals, to be very selective about engaging unless there is absolute clarity on role stability, contract structure, and internal alignment. The mission may be compelling, but the hiring process reflects deeper organizational issues. Advice to Management: Do not advance candidates or request references unless the role is genuinely approved, funded, and prioritized. Internal instability should not be externalized onto candidates. Would I recommend this company? No.
