I had an interview for a Product Owner position at a software development company. The process was quite thorough. First, they reviewed my resume and cover letter to see if I met their initial criteria. Then, I had a phone/video interview with the HR team, where they asked about my experience with agile methodologies and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Next, they assessed my technical understanding by giving me a written assessment and a technical exercise. I had to demonstrate my ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and prioritize user stories. After that, they gave me a hypothetical case study to analyze a software product. I had to identify user needs, define product goals, and create a roadmap. I presented my findings to a panel of product managers and stakeholders. They also asked about my behavioral competencies, like stakeholder management, decision-making, and conflict resolution. They wanted to know how I handle different situations and how I lead teams. In the final interview, I met with senior management, including the hiring manager and CEO. We discussed the company's values, culture, and long-term vision.
