      Interview

I had a phone screen with the recruiter and two onsite interviews. One with two employees in the role and the other with two HR Directors overseeing the org. What’s shocking is that during the interview with the HR Directors, I was then told that there was no open position but rather they were sourcing for a bench position which would open up if anyone left in the near future. This was definitely a surprise to me because the recruiter never mentioned it. When I spoke to the recruiter afterwards, I was told the information I was given was incorrect and there was an open position. I was told they would contact me shortly and when I followed up weeks later, I was sent a rejection email. PLEASE when you apply for any HR roles with this company, make sure you verify that there is actually an open role and they are not just wasting your time. Very unprofessional behavior from this ‘HR’ Company!

      Human Capital Consultant Interview

      11 Oct 2013
      Anonymous employee
      Boston, MA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at TriNet (Boston, MA) in Mar 2013

      Interview

As an HR professional, interviewing experiences matter to me. TriNet was truly one of the most professional interview processes I have experienced. From my initial contact with Recruiter, I found the individuals to be well informed, respectful, professional, they asked good questions- related to my past experience and why I made choices that I did. They returned phone calls when they said they would, they got back to me within time frames that they set and were partners in the process. It was not an intimidating interview, but it was obvious that I was speaking with educated, well versed in compliance/trends in the marketplace- that made it an exciting, challenging, career discussion. I wanted to make a good impression b/c I was impressed with those that I spoke with. It started with a Recruiter call me for a phone screen that lasted an hour. I then had a follow up interview with the person who I now report to and that too was a phone screen. I then was invited in to a local office and met with a colleague who explained "the seasons" and expectations of the job. I was frequently asked why I was making this change and my understanding of the role. I came back 2 more times. One b/c my director then flew in from out of state to meet me and lastly to meet with the Executive VP- who was very inspiring. In between those 2 meetings I had a phone screening with the Division Head who is from out of state.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

The Division Head was the most challenging b/c it was all phone based and strictly focused on what I had done and could do for the company. It was Behavioraly based and we spoke about my accomplishments and how I could contribute. They were very interested in why I wanted the job. They are definitely looking for a long term commitment. Translating past job experience to how you can assit clients is very important. Understanding the partnerships internally and the ability to work with others cooperatively is very important - which is a good thing!
