After a recruiter informed me the company liked my CV, I was sent an email with a link to an online assessment. No phone call or anything beforehand from the company to introduce themselves. Very bad first impression - First red flag for me.
Was given 1 week to start the 3 hr online assessment. The assessment was timed and most of the questions were not related to the role. The questions themselves were not too difficult but took a bit of time to complete. It could block good candidates from reaching the interview stage. A very poor filter indeed which screams poor management. Second red flag.
I completed the assessment then later withdrew my application due to the above red flags. If they cannot bother talking to candidates till after the assessment, even ones with many years of experience, then who knows what else awaits in the role. Company culture fit is definitely not a priority for them with this screening process.
