UNITE HERE Local 1 interview questions

The interview itself went smoothly - both of the interviewers seemed genuinely interested in my responses and I felt pretty confident about my status by the end of the process. One thing to note is that they spent very little time on my research experience and much more time on my organizing experience. I didn't receive a response until more than a week later, which turned out to be a bait-and-switch. Similar situations have been posted to the national Unite Here page. They emailed me saying that they were moving forward with other candidates for the Campaign Researcher position but had an opening for an organizing apprenticeship position in the spring. As other people have pointed out, the organizing apprenticeship is a job that involves working at a hospitality job from the inside and getting other coworkers to unionize. This is completely the opposite of what I was looking for, and I can't even be sure that they were moving forward with other candidates for the campaign researcher position or were looking for an apprentice this entire time. I feel like I wasted my time with this company.
