I applied through their website and heard back about a day or two later with a phone interview. They sounded somewhat interested and said they'll hopefully get back within a week or so, and they did.
After that they wanted an in-person interview and showed me around their facility to meet the Operations Manager, Chemists, etc, and they said they would let me know something as soon as possible. I believe it was about four business days later they called and offered me the job; futhermore, I received a follow-up email with an offer that I was able to accept electronically. As with most larger companies, U.S. Ecology has to do their background checks, drug testing, bloodwork and a physical. I assume the bloodwork is to ensure you're not coming on with too much lead, etc. in your system and trying to blame it on them, and I want to say they mentioned this must be done each year for monitoring purposes, which I think is great since my last company didn't really care about that.
So far, it seems like an amazing company to work for. Everyone there was very laid back and extremely happy to be working there, despite COVID and everything going on. I do get the feeling this is one of those jobs/places where employees do not leave very often--which is always a great sign to not have a high turnaround, so I feel like I'm pretty lucky (probably just perfect timing) to have received an offer and definitely hope I can start as soon as possible.
