I applied online. The process took 2 months. I interviewed at US Postal Service (Lehi, UT) in Jul 2015
Interview
Many questions were asked. They wanted to know that you for sure were available on call, any day of the week (Sunday delivery started a month ago). They specified that they're many advancement opportunities, but it can take years and years to even become a 'regular' salaried carrier. The postmaster himself conducted the interview. Integrity of the mail was also a key point.

There is not an interview for this position. Just apply online, pass the background screening and receive your start date. Best time to apply is for the holiday season. I was hired on for the holiday season and received a call back in less than a month after the season ended to return back for a 360 position.
