      Spanish Marketing Associate Interview

      10 Sept 2014
      Anonymous interview candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience

      Application

      I interviewed at Udemy

      I applied online.
      The process took 3 months.

      Interview

They clearly take advantage of candidates during the hiring process. Their way of treating the applicants is completely unacceptable. I was applying for a Spanish Marketing position , they asked me to complete 2 challenges consisting in giving them ideas for their current marketing plans in Spain. After 2 months of emails back and forth, this position disappeared and they asked me to participate in another hiring process. I decided to participate in the other hiring process (bad idea), the position was within the same team, the hiring manager asked me to complete two additional challenges before the interview at their offices. One challenge consisted in promoting one of their courses with my own social media networks and getting them as much leads as possible, I found that this was too much and I suggested the strategy but didn't execute it 100%, the other challenge was identifying and contacting partners in Spain (not professional at all either). They are clearly using the applicants to have their work done. After sending the challenges I got an email from the hiring manager saying: thank you so much for your patience in the process but we have decided to not move forward with your application. Again, no feedback from the challenges. The worst thing is that the position is still open and it's been 2 months, so I don't want to imagine of how many people are they taking advantage! To conclude: I completed 4 challenges for them , invested a lot of time and energy and I worked for free! But after all here is my conclusion: if applicants are treated like this during the process this can be a reflection of the company’s overall culture – and is that how you want to be treated as an employee if you work there? Don't waste your time with these people you deserve more!
