Short chat with HR initially. Technical and behavioural interview in their office. Negative because I had to call HR to get feedback as they didn't contact me within the time frame they said they would. Also negative because after contacting them, they said they weren't going to extend an offer because they found the candidate they wanted, but they liked me and wanted to line me up with the next open role coming soon. I was cautiously optimistic, but it turned out I was being strung along as the next role was filled without me even being contacted. Important role of HR is giving honest feedback, trying to save someone's feelings forfeits transparency and means applicants don't get feedback and they may end up feeling resentment towards the hiring process.
