I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Visma (Timişoara) in Aug 2012
Interview
I applied for a Java Software Dev job in August 2012 after hearing about openings from a friend who also thought of applying. Sent an email with my CV to HR.
The interview was a 5 step process over the course of 2-3 weeks.
1. Skype interview with a team manager and a development director from Oslo. Discussed about past experience and job profile.
2. Technical test to solve a problem at home. Nothing very complicated. Criterias for evaluation: working functionality, good OOP design, clean code, tests, documentation, etc. Sent it over email after 1-2 days.
3. Technical meeting at the offices in Timisoara with the team manger (he was on Skype) and a future team colleague from Timisoara. We discussed the solution to the problem, possible improvements, possible issues in various scenarios. Discussion also included other technical questions from different topics: security (symetric and asymetric encription, authorization vs authentication, certificates, etc), scaling, database, cotinuous integration, etc
4. Not-so-techincal meeting with team manger again and PM over Skype. Questions related to different scenarios: e.g. You have deadline in 1 day. There is no more time for testing the code. Do you deliver untested? What do you do ? ... this kind of stuff. More of a personality interview in my opinion.
5. Received a link from HR with an online aptitude test (similar to IQ tests). Eg. of a question: there were 4 images with various drawings. What is the 5th image (multiple choice questions)? Test was timed and practice questions did not seem very difficult but real questions were much harder.
Received offer after 1 day after the final test.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Can't rememeber exactly. Some funny question involving the total number of cars in Oslo given the number of gas stations or something like that.
I interviewed at Visma (Helsinki, Southern Finland)
Interview
3 rounds with technical assignment. Quite straight forward. First round with HR. Then 2nd and last one with HRM and your stakeholders. Interviewers are nice. The whole process cost around 4 weeks to complete
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Visma
Interview
I applied on their website, took nearly 2 weeks for entering the technical interview. I consider it is a bad hiring process because:
- Technical engineer knew very little about the field he interviewed.
- Hiring manager tried to lure you in a lower pay range because of "budget".
First interview with 'the boss'. Second interview with developer. Then a code test (horrible code test from the stone ages and quite embarrassing). Third interview with developer again to go through code test. Now an intelligence test. Then fourth interview but this time with HR (you think you are getting hired). No offer becasue they gave the position to somone who lives closer to the office. Absolute joke.

Question 1
Code test was a joke. Feedback was that the guy who was finally offered the position also (mor than living closer to the office) gave feedback on how they could do the code test better. I felt like also doing this but choose not to as it was not part of the task and I didnt want to hurt anyone's feelings. The code test was one of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen.
