I was referred by my current manager to the local Waste Management on-site Project Manager at the company where I currently provide other services. There was an Upstream Project Specialist position open at an area manufacturing facility. I sent my resume to the manager at that site, and got a call to schedule an interview from corporate HR a few weeks later. I was interviewed by the site Project Manager and Regional Sales head. The interview went very well, and I also submitted a paper I prepared that detailed the job requirements and profiled my personality, experience and skills to show how well I would do in the position. I received a verbal "Very well done" at the end. I was told I was one of 3 being interviewed. I sent the appropriate thank you cards. I left feeling very positive about my potential.
TO DATE (going on 2 months), I HAVE NOT HAD ANY CALLS OR EMAILS TO TELL ME THE STATUS OF THE JOB. I had waited the appropriate 7-10 days to beginning asking of the status, and repeated calls and emails to first HR and then to the site Program Manager have been COMPLETELY IGNORED.
To say the least, I am highly irritated. OK, I understand that I didn't get the job. However, it is incredibly RUDE to not a) tell the other interviewees that they were not chosen, and b) not return calls or emails to provide very much desired and necessary feedback of why I was not chosen.
