The job ad stated that experience in loans was preferred. When I attended the interview, the guy told me he doesn't care what experience the candidate has, that they could be working at a zoo and it would not matter because this was an entry-level position. I asked what they were looking for, and the guy said they wanted someone willing to learn. Okay, how do you determine that a candidate is willing to learn? What if they have shown an ability to learn through past jobs, perhaps in a financial institution? What if every candidate tells you they are willing to learn? If you don't want an experienced person, then why are you inviting them to an interview? Ultimately, I felt this guy tried to downplay my experience. I was told that on 10/7 they would have an answer, so I followed up, but the manager did not have the courtesy to answer my email. The guy himself had given me his business card at the meeting, so that should have implied he would be open to communication, but I guess not. Not a total surprise, as they hinted in the interview that they ignore their own vendors who try to follow up with them.
