      I was really excited to interview for a job at Wave but the interviewer was pretty unprofessional. They were late, connecting to their Bluetooth headset in their car while trying to conduct the interview, there were issues with them hearing because of the connection through Bluetooth etc. After the phone call I felt deflated at the quality of the phone interview but still excited about the opportunity to work for them. I wasn’t shocked when they emailed and said I hadn’t got the job or progressed to the next stage as the phone interview was such a mess.

      Our most sincere apologies for the communication issues during your phone interview which resulted in a less than ideal experience for you. Our bluetooth headsets had just been installed with the intention of improving sound quality during interviews, but unfortunately we had technical issues during our call. We can assure you, however, that the communication breakdown did not affect our recruitment process process in any way, and that none of our hiring decisions are based on the phone interview alone, which is why we have a very thorough process that includes written assessments and reviews by multiple team members. We would be happy to hear from you again and consider you for future opportunities should there be any that interest you - our doors are always open!

      Had a phone interview with the nicest recruiter, I successfully moved on the two interviews to be done on the same day with two contacts in each. One of the interviewers that was responsible for greeting me at the door was 10 minutes late. That same lady gave a tour of the office, and different floors they occupy. Very nice lofty office space. And they have dogs in the office, nice touch. Then I sat down with her and another senior rep for the first interview. He was kind but she ended up being very unprofessional when asking her questions she would make the “hurry up” motion with her hand as a way for me to answer he questions rapidly right after asking them to me, with 1 second, very rude. And she clearly took offense to me asking about management styles. And didn’t allow me to ask all my 3 interview follow up questions and rushed up to leave before I was done speaking. The second leg of the interview was perfectly fine and overall I had a great experience minus that one lady who can definitely refine her inter-personal skills. Thumbs down just for that unfortunate interaction with that lady.

      Interview

      Applied on line. Spoke with Manager several times regarding the position and my experience. She was very positive and wanted to move forward. Received a subsequent email from the same manager that the position was under review and they would contact me if a similar position arose in the future. 2 weeks later the identical position was re-posted on line. Follow ups to manager were ignored. Behaviour reflects poorly on both the manager and the company.

We close the office for several weeks at the end of December until January to help our team members destress from a busy year, and get ready for the next, and we have been busy ramping up for an office move as we’ve undergone renovations to expand our space to make room for new team members. It’s possible that your message was missed in that time, which we sincerely apologize for. It certainly was not because of disinterest in you or your candidacy!
