DISCLAIMER: LISTEN TO THE OTHER REVIEWS!
I applied online and it took about a week for them to email me and schedule me for a phone call. The call was about 20 minutes? and I thought I wasn't going to move forward because the recruiter sounded tired/bored. But at the end of the call, she told me she wants to schedule me for a second interview, which was going to be a video call with the guy in charge of media aka the hiring manager. So we schedule a call for a week later and the call goes better than expected. He even said my answers were perfect despite difficult questions. And again, at the end of the call, he MENTIONS NEXT STEPS and says I would be hearing from the recruiter. I email her regarding that and she responds saying she will email be within a week. Obviously excited, I thank her and even emailed the guy I spoke with.
This is where it gets interesting. A week goes by and I don't hear from her. I email her asking about next steps again and she responds saying that she's still working through next steps with the team and will email me once she has an update. Two weeks go by, and still no email. At this point, I'm thinking they probably went with someone else. BUT I still decide to email her and ask her what my application status was (because in the case she does say they moved on, I wanted to ask her why). Her response? "I'm still working on next steps with the team and will be in touch once I have an update." Really? Are you REALLY trying to coordinate next steps and get back to me? Because over the last few weeks, I've seen a job posting for the same position go up SEVERAL TIMES.
I don't know whether or not it's the recruiter's fault or if it's actually the "team's" fault for making excuses on why I'm not moving forward with the application, but come on. Have some decency to let me know honestly that I'm not moving forward. Don't make petty excuses and try to make the company look good by making it seem like it's not your fault. That just makes it 10x worse on the company's image. They obviously think it's a joke to waste the candidate's time.
