      Principal Power Engineer Interview

      13 Jan 2014
      Anonymous employee
      Sydney
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Worley (Sydney) in Jul 2012

      Interview

Very detailed Position Description sent beforehand so I knew what they wanted and could prepare. Was sent a questionnaire a week beforehand which I filled in and took along. This was copied on my arrival and panel all had a copy for the presentation (which they seemed to make notes on). My immediate boss met me first and we talked for around 20 mins before the formal interview. He told me who was going to be on the panel, their roles and interests, so when I went to the interview I knew what was going on. Very good process for getting rid of nervousness. 4 interviewers, and a reasonably free-form process for 40 minutes. They had all read my CV (which was a new experience).

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Nothing unexpected really. When I gave an answer they were keen to follow up with probing questions. Broad generalisations were quickly drilled down into. When I said I was good at managing people I was asked for specific examples.
